What we do
Importing, regularization, warehousing and distribution
From origin to the commercial partner: an in-house operational chain, structured across three complementary fronts.
Importing
Sourcing and technical qualification of suppliers across six origin markets, with shipment planning and import licensing.
- Manufacturer assessment: standing with the authorities in the country of origin, Good Manufacturing Practices (ISO 22716) and a complete technical dossier
- Negotiation of minimum remaining shelf life, minimum order quantities and the replenishment schedule
- Import licence with Anvisa consent and customs clearance at the ports of Santos or Paranaguá, or at Guarulhos or Viracopos airports
Regularization
Product notification and registration with Anvisa, in Azhara's name as the holder of the regularization, according to category and applicable legal basis.
- Formula and INCI screening against Anvisa's substance lists, and classification as Grade 1 or Grade 2 (RDC 907/2024, as amended by RDC 949/2024)
- Electronic notification for products exempt from registration, and registration for the groups listed in art. 34 (sunscreens, hair straighteners, repellents, among others)
- Labelling in Brazilian Portuguese, safekeeping of the technical dossier, and a statement of responsibility signed by our Technical Officer
Warehousing and distribution
In-house facility in São Bernardo do Campo, with licensing underway, and nationwide dispatch to stores, retail chains and aesthetics clinics.
- Batch, expiry and traceability control for every unit dispatched
- Supplementary labelling at destination, when needed, before the product is sold
- Commercial support and trade marketing with retail partners
The path to market
From dossier to the shelf, in four stages
Azhara's Operating Authorization (AFE) and sanitary licence are in progress. Product regularization begins once they are published; technical screening and the commercial agreement can start before.
Technical screening
Formula and INCI review against Anvisa's lists, classification by group and risk grade, label review and Portuguese labelling plan.
Typical timingWeeks, once the complete dossier is received. Runs in parallel with the commercial agreement.
Anvisa regularization
Notification for products exempt from registration — most groups, both Grade 1 and Grade 2. Registration for the nine groups in art. 34 of RDC 907/2024: sunscreens, repellents, tanning products, hand sanitiser gel, hair straighteners, perming products and hair straightening-and-dyeing products.
Typical timingNotification: days after filing. Registration: months, depending on the product and Anvisa's requirements.
Import and customs clearance
Import licence with Anvisa consent, sea shipment through Santos or Paranaguá, or air shipment through Guarulhos or Viracopos, customs clearance and receipt at our warehouse in Greater ABC.
Typical timingDepends on origin and mode of transport. Minimum remaining shelf life is agreed with the brand before shipment.
Warehousing and distribution
Batch and expiry control with full traceability, nationwide dispatch to stores, retail chains and aesthetics clinics, and trade marketing with retail partners.
Typical timingContinuous. Replenishment planned with the brand from sell-out data.
Timings are indicative. Anvisa review times vary with product category, dossier completeness and the agency's queue at the time of filing. Read the full guide on importing.
